Almost everything I expected for the price (it was a great deal) Everything clean, breakfast was fine and the staff were friendly. View from the backside of the hotel was lovely and there is a great little pub on the other side of the car park. Would have been perfect if the room had a small fridge.
We chose this Hotel for a stay over in the area for 1 night - & we made a good choice. Our double room was perfectly adequate for our stay and was very clean. What was also welcome was a very comfy bed. Additionally, the staff were polite and courteous - hence Th e 5 stars awarded.

Only went here for a meal after going to the Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio as it came with the tickets we bought. Was not to bad a meal there. Not a big choice of food . Waitress was lovely. Place was clean and well kept. A wedding party had arrived when we came there.
Stunning gardens and main building. The rooms were nice but more attention to cleaning is required. Moldy windows and dust was welcomed. The security also is questionable. With such a large site and two entrances, access is uncontrolled and I could gain entry to much of the pool and accomodation annexe. That said great location next to the Harry potter studios.

I played this course about 20 years ago and it's only gotten better. Last time I played it was drier and needed some work, but now it's in top condition. Everything from the tee boxes to fairways, and even the rough, is well maintained. It's not very long or particularly challenging, but a great day's golf and beautiful course make this very worthwhile - not to mention the more than reasonable green fees. Staff are welcoming and helpful; very polite and friendly. Well worth the visit.
Stayed here on a Smart-Box gifted stay, staff were very attentive and waiting staff especially at dinner and breakfast were very friendly and helpful. Food was great and breakfast was well stocked and choice was extensive. The hotel itself is beautiful and the grounds go on forever and are immaculately tended. Free WiFi available throughout which is very handy as phone reception wasn’t great. Only down side is there is no Aircon in the older wing but this is due to the listed status of the building and windows when opened allow a good draft and cool breeze. If you just want to unwind and relax this is a great choice.

Overall quite good, and little slow waited a long time to be acknowledged although most of the staff were good one member could do with more training. We enjoyed our food so worth the wait. Having said that the restaurant was virtually empty, not sure what it would like at busy times.
Stylish gastro-pub. Had dinner here and was extremely pleased they had a separate vegan menu as well as a large house menu. The food was delicious and served promptly. The staff were attentive but not overbearing. Booking is advised. There is outdoor seating and ample parking on site. There is wheelchair access as well as a dedicated disabled toilet.

We've been living in the area for close to 6 years and this is our go-to pub. We have 2 kids (4 And 2) and they love the garden in the back and playing on the tractor. Service is great too and the pub is accommodating to kids (though not overrun with them). The only fault we have is that the starters have always come out lightening fast, but we always wait an excessive amount of time for the mains. But would 100% recommend the Cricketers - quality spot.
Great food great wine lovely atmosphere and great staff

Yet another successful visit to this fantastic pub! Family meal for Father's Day. Staff are always so welcoming and efficient and cannot fault the management, only praise them.....excellent! Meal was superb and the best fillet steak I've tasted in years, so compliments to the chef! Having moved in to the village recently, we can't believe how lucky we've been to find such a great local. Thank you!
We took the kids to The Royal Oak after the Harry Potter Studio Tour. It was a great choice. It was only a few minutes away from the studio. It’s a long drive back for the kids to wait to get a good meal, so convenient as well for the family. The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good. We recommend going there for dinner, and would go there regardless of the tour.

Cosy and friendly. The room has got everything you could possibly need. There is an amazing choice of breakfast, all organic and wholesome. Highly recommend it.
I stayed here for 4 days and it was wonderful. Very welcoming and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and very spacious. The breakfasts were lovely. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
