Local Florists

Flowerhouse, Kings Langley

2-3 Station Rd, Kings Langley WD4 8LL, UK – 01923 269157

Just opposite kings Langley station, this florist is great value for money. We got a stunning bouquet for £25 which rivaled other chain florists who would charge much more. The shop has free parking and the staff were very helpful.

Always nice flowers . Friendly staff

Amie Bone Flowers

109C Courtlands Dr, Watford WD17 4HY, UK – 01923 662647

Attended one of Amie's 'Festive Wreath Making Workshop's this week with a friend. I was firstly blown away by how beautiful the shop was, from the bouquets to the shop decoration, everything had been done to perfection. The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. It was a fabulous evening and we all went home with our beautiful creations. Already looking forward to next year's workshop!

Lovely flowers and professional team. You can be as accurate or loose as you like with the descriptions for what you want (useful for us men!), and the team will be able to help! Parking is normally ok and I'd always advise phoning your order through beforehand to avoid waiting - I've never had an issue with speaking to someone on the phone. Only florist I'll use in Watford! 💐

Fabulous Floristry by Carla

Toms Ln, Kings Langley WD4 8NP, UK – 01923 549036

I highly recommend Fabulous Floristry by Carla having used them for the first time today. Carla went above and beyond when I stupidly placed an order for the wrong day. One panic email to Carla explaining my mistake and two hours later my order was delivered in time for recipients birthday. The web site was very simple to use and had a very good selection to choose from. Flowers were of high quality and recipient was complimentary about the arrangement. An extremely happy customer and definitely be placing another order in the future. Thank you!

Fabulous flowers, fabulous service, I recently used Carla to make a board for one of my bestfriend’s Dad’s funeral. On such a sad day it brought a smile to soo many, the whole church chuckled as they were brought in, it meant soo much to the family and friends. The arrangement itself was of a John Deere ride-on lawn mower, after briefly discussing the idea Carla had already worked out how to do the arrangement. When I saw it I was astounded, the attention to detail was beyond anything I had imagined, she even managed to make a 3D stearing wheel!! For the amount of work that went into the arrangement the price was unbeliveably reasonable. Carla personally came to my place of work to discuss the design, deliver/collect the accompanying cards, and arrange the delivery to the funeral. Carla made herself very available, even offerring to collect the cards the day before the funeral, giving us the time to write are messages of bereavement, taking all the pressure off. All of the immediate family personally thanked me for bringing a bit of joy back into their day, so I just want to express even a token of that appreciation here. Thank you soo much

Tips - Caring for your flowers once they are delivered

Placing your flowers in vase half to two thirds full with lukewarm water, will help closed buds to start opening.

  • Be careful when un-wrapping a hand-tied bouquet as it is delivered in a water bubble to keep the flowers fresh.
  • Arranging your flowers in cold water should be avoided as this can reduce the their life in the vase.
  • Avoid puting flowers in metal or aluminium containers - glass is ideal. Keep your flowers in a cool location, away from draughts, direct heat or sunlight. Arrange once unwrapped
  • Your flowers may take up to 24 hours after being placed in water to reach their full potential.
  • Strip off all excess foliage and leaves below the water level to reduce any harmful bacteria within the water.
  • Bacteria can block the stem and stop the flowers taking up the water.unwrap. Flowers like their stems trimmed. So, trim them, at an angle with a knife (rather than scissors) by an inch or so. When trimming stems, always cut at an angle of roughly 45degrees; this increases the surface area allowing your flowers to absorb more water.
  • If a Rose starts to droop at the head, re-cut the stem, wrap the head in paper to support it upright and plunge 5cms of the stem into boiling water for about 30seconds. Cut the stem again and place in deep cold water for two hours.trim

Most orders are accompanied by a sachet of cut flower food which will encourage buds to open and help to prolong the life and beauty of your flowers. Top up regularly with water and flower food, removing any fading flowers. Ensure the floristry foam used in arrangements is moist and topped up daily; this helps to prolong the life and vibrancy of your arrangements.
